myth vs. fact

myth #1: homosexuality is a disorder that can be cured.
fact: The American Medical Association, American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association agree that homosexuality is not a disorder.

myth #2: change is possible. there are hundreds of former gay and lesbian individuals today who have been changed into heterosexuals.
fact: The American Psychological Association (APA), American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association have found that "conversion" therapy is not only scientifically unfounded, but can be dangerous.

myth #3: men become gay because they have poor relationships with their fathers.
fact: Recent studies have found that there is no link between parental relationships and sexual orientation.
